Nick Bontorno grew up in Norwich and Elmira, NY before moving west in his late 20s where he lived in New Mexico, Wyoming, Idaho and Utah. He started drawing and painting as a child, and never stopped. After living in Jackson, Wyoming for many years, the artist now call Utah home.
Bontorno has established a niche in Western contemporary art for his distinct color field style with a cinematic flair. When not in his studio, the artist also teaches painting. Bontorno works with his wife Mairi who is also an artist, writer and poet.
