"This one was inspired by an old barbershop building that was from sometime in the 1890s or so. The moose antlers on the front really spoke to me. The grain of the wood and the texture of the darkened brown siding against the white snow was always very striking. Then imagining a white horse in front of the dark structure, it became a painting about values: light horse, against dark structure, against light background. It's about the optimism of something bright even in frigid weather." - Drew Christie
